About wRiteBlocks
I am a single mother of three boys (now young adults) that have different aspects of Pervasive Developmental Disorders (two of them also have writing difficulties), and I tutored children with learning disabilities and cognitive dysfunction.
Over the last 22+ years, as I struggled with deciphering my own children's' “coded messages” (written, verbal and non-verbal) and began to work with my other students, I came upon the realization that many of the kids have a different perspective on life and process information from a round-about angle. They needed to... 1) have someone understand HOW they learn and... 2) have the Teacher teach "Their Way" so the information being taught would "stick" in their brain.
As I figured out HOW each child learned, I could then help them to quickly move past learning the mechanics of learning and they would actually begin to absorb a lot of the lesson information at a faster rate. After a while... (To save a lot of time "discovering" their individual "Learning Tracks"), I began to combine all the learning methods I found out about while doing my research on why these "special kids" are still getting Left Behind in the school systems. I also developed some "new" tools to help the kids eliminate the confusion of regular teaching methods.
And it didn't take long for my "New Teaching System" to help the kids "catch-on" and make some real and very noticeable progress. I discovered the kids learn easier and faster with this single-combined Teaching Method, and the lesson information "STICKS" even better than before.
I was so thrilled to see the "light bulb" finally get turned on for these kids, that I wanted to be able to help all the other kids out there. And I figured that the best way was to do it on the internet. So please spread the word, and let's get the "Next Generation" caught up and moving forward.

How big are the sets, levels, kits, etc.?
The contents of the Teaching System are as follows:
* Flash cards (for example):
* one SET typically has 25 words, 3 cards per "word" = 75 flashcards total
* one LEVEL = 4 sets (3 word groups and 1 sight word group) = 300 cards total
* one complete Flashcards KIT = 10 levels = approx. 3000 cards total
How can I add files to a dedicated wRiteBlocks CD?
If you have a CD-ROM drive that can record- you can burn them directly to a dedicated wRiteBlocks CD. If you don’t have a way to burn files to your CD, simply create a folder on your harddrive and put all the files in that: and be sure to somehow mark the file named 'WBmenu' to use as an Auto-Start menu grid for accessing any file in the Language System. Why are the sight-word sheets different than the spelling sheets?
It is easier for the child to learn spelling in a column (since one of the first rules he learns is the “definate-ness” of up/down [gravity] vs. the “relative-ness” of left/right) *Remember the different perspective I explained on the ABOUT US Page.
The sight-words are placed in a column and written left to right across the row to help get him used to spacing for the coming sentence structure lessons.
